FAQ's for rehab at Pathfinders Recovery Centers

1. Which treatment options are the most effective for treating addiction?

When deciding whether to recover through inpatient treatment or an outpatient treatment program, it can be difficult to determine which of these options may be best for you. After all, addiction is a very subjective condition and will vary from person to person in how it should be treated.

Thus, when comparing these two treatment methods, there is not necessarily a better or worse option. Rather, each of these programs will work better for some individuals than they will for others, based on the person’s specific addiction care needs.

Of course, there are several factors that will influence what type of treatment a person will need, including:

  1. What substances they are abusing.
  2. How long the individual has been abusing alcohol or drugs.
  3. The existence of any co-occurring disorders.
  4. The conditions of their external environment and support system(s).
  5. Previous participation in therapeutic treatment services.
  6. Previous experience with alcohol or drug rehab services.
  7. History of domestic violence, previous trauma, or any other past stressful experiences.

If someone is struggling with a severe addiction or is attempting to come off of substances such as alcohol, opioids, or benzos, it is highly recommended that they seek treatment at an inpatient facility. These programs will be able to provide the constant medical supervision and care necessary to effectively combat these addictions.

For those who are overcoming less intense substance use disorders, or who are unable to fully commit the time an inpatient program would require, outpatient treatment services may be a better option.

Furthermore, an individual’s chances of success in completing an inpatient or outpatient treatment program will also heavily rely on their own role in their recovery journey.

Pathfinders Recovery Centers are dedicated to providing personalized treatment plans for each of our clients. Of course, this means that individuals are expected to demonstrate a level of commitment and self-sufficiency in completing their specific treatment process.

This also means that both the client and their family are expected to continue to comply with the recommendations of their treatment providers. Whether recovering at an inpatient or outpatient program, one’s journey to sobriety is heavily dependent on their own willpower and dedication to overcoming addiction.

2. Do you only offer addiction treatment services at your rehab facilities?

Pathfinders addiction rehab facilities are dedicated to offering a wide variety of treatment services to our clients, as we believe this will give them their best chance at recovery. These include dual diagnosis treatment options, which are designed to help those struggling with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

We believe that by treating the underlying causes of addiction, our clients can make a full and long-term recovery from their substance abuse. This is why we offer an array of mental health services, including individual counseling and group therapy sessions. These are conducted by highly experienced and qualified therapists who specialize in addiction and mental health.

3. What are the most important things to look for in an outpatient rehab program?

For those who have uncompromisable time commitments, whether these be with work, family, or otherwise, outpatient treatment programs will likely be the best fit for them. Of course, there are countless outpatient facilities throughout the U.S. today, each with its own unique characteristics and services.

So how do you know which outpatient program will be the best fit for your care needs? If you find yourself asking this question, you need to look no further than this page for an answer. We have compiled a list of factors that can help you decide what treatment facilities will give you the best chance at a successful recovery from addiction, which include:

  • Licenses & Accreditations. Outpatient facilities that have been accredited by external regulatory organizations are those that stay up to date with the necessary guidelines and protocols assigned to medical institutions. This, of course, includes Pathfinders recovery centers, which have been awarded with The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for our exceptional addiction treatment programs.
  • Dual Diagnosis Treatment Services. Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders are extremely common, and outpatient programs that offer dual diagnosis treatment services often maintain a particularly high quality standard of care. These programs – such as Pathfinders outpatient services – can be crucial to your successful addiction recovery.
  • Evidence-Based Treatment Approach. While less conventional or more spiritually-based treatment programs can be helpful as an additional part of an individual’s recovery process, seeking out programs that adhere to a clinically-proven addiction treatment approach is always strongly recommended. At Pathfinders recovery centers, we strive to provide proven addiction treatment services to all of our clients.
  • Individualized Care Options. Addiction varies in nature from person to person; and, by extension, so too must the treatment of this condition. A treatment approach that values this need for attention to detail is a strong indication of a good outpatient program. Here at Pathfinders, we value our clients as the unique individuals they are and strive to provide individualized treatment plans that are structured to their personal care needs.
  • Staff Qualifications. A treatment facility is only as good as its staff. That’s why Pathfinders Recovery Centers strive to maintain caring and dedicated treatment providers. Our staff consists of medical doctors, therapists, and staff that are highly trained in the fields of addiction treatment and behavioral therapy, allowing them to provide effective care and support for all of our clients.
    • Continuum of Care Treatment. The best outpatient treatment programs, such as those offered by Pathfinders, will follow a Continuum of Care approach, which involves a client’s progression from one level of treatment to the next. This can be particularly beneficial to individuals who may need continuous care and support in their addiction recovery process.
  • Aftercare Programs. A person’s addiction recovery journey likely does not end once they complete their first rehab program. Thus, finding outpatient facilities that offer aftercare or long-term treatment programs can be a great indicator of their quality. At Pathfinders, we offer aftercare services that prioritize staying in touch with clients after they have completed initial treatment so that we can continue to encourage and support them in maintaining their sobriety.

4. How long does the detox process last?

When it comes to medically supervised detox, the amount of time this process takes to complete will vary based on the individual receiving treatment. After all, some addictions may be more severe or have more intense withdrawal periods than others (i.e. alcohol, benzos, and opioids).

The existence of co-occurring disorders may also increase the length of this process, as these can make clients more prone to relapse or experience intense mental symptoms as they are being weaned off a substance. In general, the detox process can last anywhere from one to several weeks, varying based on a client’s specific care needs.

When participating in a detox program, you will likely consult with your treatment provider to determine an estimate for how long your specific process will be. This consultation will also likely involve the discussion of a specific diet that you will follow while detoxing, as well as the possible administration of medications that can help manage more difficult symptoms.

At Pathfinders, we will assess your need for detox during the initial intake process. If detox is necessary, we will refer you to the appropriate treatment facility to safely eliminate harmful substances from the body before you begin your recovery program with us.

Insurance FAQs for rehab

5. Does my insurance cover addiction treatment?

Many people find themselves concerned over how or whether they will be able to afford addiction treatment. Fortunately, most insurance providers will cover some or all of an individual’s substance abuse recovery process.

Of course, this level of coverage will vary depending on a person’s specific insurance provider and policy. Furthermore, certain addiction treatment programs may only accept specific providers.

At Pathfinders, our treatment centers accept most major insurance providers, as well as out-of-pocket forms of payment. If you are unsure about whether your insurance provider will cover your addiction treatment or what level of coverage you are entitled to, you can find this out using our free and simple insurance verification tool.

Or, you can reach out to one of our addiction counselors at (877) 224-0761, and we will be happy to discuss all of your treatment and payment options, as well as answer any other questions you may have about finding a recovery route that is best for you.
